Siege of Bordrin's Watch

The city of Overlook nearby the Elsir Vale has run into some extreme trouble. The orc hordes have been testing the walls of Bordin’s Watch for quite sometime. In the past, the walls have stood their test, but this time the dwarves are a bit concerned.

All their misgivings stem from the reports brought back by their own scouts, who mention endless ranks of orcs, trolls, and worse marching inexorably to the Stonehome Mountains. To shore up the thin number of defend- ers to man the Watch, Overlook dispatched a call to arms, beseeching able-bodied men and women across the Elsir Vale to mobilize at Overlook and then join forces with the defenders in the mountains. With the memory of the last war that ravaged the Vale, militias formed up and adventurers from as far away as Brindol answered the call.

The Council of Elders assigns the task of securing the tunnels beneath the Monastery of the Sundered Chain to the PCs, and they dispatch other groups to the other weak points in their defenses. Once the characters arrive at the old monastery, it is clear the other locations might be compromised and the other adventuring groups might be overmatched.

While in the city, the PCs encounter The Freeriders, a newly formed group of adventurers.

In this adventure, the PCs fight and defeat the Half Orc, half Ogre warrior. Tusk’s army was unusually well armed, something of interest to the PCs. The player characters managed to seal Bordrin’s Watch and fight back the Orc horde. However, one of the adventuring groups, The Farstriders were killed in the battle.

After killing Tusk, the players discovered that Dark Creepers were supplying arms and tactical intelligence to Tusk. The introduction of Dark Creepers proves most interesting to the players.

Rescue at Rivenroar (Recap)

The quiet village of Brindol had seen relative peace and quiet in the Elsir Vale. But things were not always so quiet. Twenty years ago, the village and the vale were the targets of conquest of the Red Hand of Doom.

After coming into Brindol, the heroes were quickly in the middle of an attack on the town. A horde of hobgoblins besieged the city in an attempt to pillage and burn the village. Luckily the players were onsite and able to repel the attack, but not before seven of the town’s citizens were kidnapped by the raiding party.

The local council assembled. Councilman Eoffram Troyas approached the heroes, hoping that they would take on the task of rescuing the seven citizens kidnapped in the raid. After a brief exchange, the heroes accepted the task of rescuing the citizens. After interrogating a capture goblin named Morrik, the heroes learned that the hobgoblin army was being led by a vicious hobgoblin named Sinruth. Sinruth has his army headquartered in the old abandoned Castle Rivenroar.

In a daring raid, the heroes stormed Castle Rivenroar. In clearing out the dungeon the group encountered and defeated Sinruth. The heroes were able to save six of the seven captives. The town guard Kartenix was killed prior to the heroes arrival.

Amongst other treasures,they found the following letter on Sinruth.

Brave Sinruth, The Red Hand will rise again! The other remnants take great cheer in your recent attacks on commerce coming into The Blight That is Brindol.
We’re particularly pleased with your ability to inspire a fighting spirit in others, whether they have true goblin blood or merely wish they did. To be blunt, we think you should have many more soldiers under your command. Many, many more.

And recent events have rendered some remnants leaderless. With a bold stroke on your part, the remnants would rally to the Red Hand you so proudly display.
As your bold stroke, do this: Attack the The Blight That is Brindol by night. Focus your efforts on their Hall of Great Valor, for it mocks the many hard-won victories by the first Red Hand of Doom. Take from them the spoils of war they shamelessly hang on their walls and bring those antiques back to Rivenroar.

Do this before the moon is next full. And with regard to your previous question, turning over captives to your unliving allies at Rivenroar is perfectly acceptable. War sometimes makes strange bedfellows, and we appreciate how you’ve united such disparate forces under your banner. Whatever prisoners you take from Rivenroar you can give to the wight.
Fight with the valor of your ancestors, Sinruth. And keep your hands stained red with the blood of the weak! I will visit you again next month, at a time of my choosing.

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
